| Carved in Tupelo Wood from the Southern United States each piece starts as a solid block. The Artist, Sandra E. Moore has been carving full time since 1992, born and raised in Canada near the Rocky Mountains, Sandra possesses a deep respect for Art and Nature. Wood Sculpture provides the means to combine these two passions to create an exquistite and lasting tribute. It begins with a solid block of wood, the Artist designs a pattern which is then cut on a large band saw to reveal a rough shape. Then the grinding will take place until there is a rough shape of a bird. Sandra's favorite subjects are Owls and Hummingbirds but there is no limit to the talents and subject possibilites. Stone sculpture is a relatively new venture for Sandra and we hope to display pictures in the near future. |
